
शंकरं शंकराचार्यं केशवं बादरायणम्।
सुत्र: भाश्य: कृतौ: वन्दे भगवन्तौ पुनः पुनः॥
Sankaram Sankaracharyam Keshavam Badarayanam
Soothra: bhashya: Krithou: Vande, Bhagavantaou Punah: Punah
( Means: Salutations again and again to Lord Shiva in the form of Sri Sankaracharya and Lord Vishnu in the form of Sri Veda Vyasa, who were the authors of Sutra and Bhasyam (Long commentary) to Upanishads, Bhagavat Gita and Brahma Sutras )
सदाशिव समारम्भाम् शंकराचार्य मध्यमाम्
अस्मद् आचार्य पर्यन्ताम् वंदे गुरु परम्पराम्
Sadashivasamarambham sankaracharya madhyamam
Asmadacharya paryantham vande Guru Parambaram:
( Means: I bow to the entire lineage of Gurus(Teacher) from the first teacher Lord Shiva as all knowledge originates from Siva, then Sankaracharya in the middle who has provided commentary by decoding the complex and subtle concepts to all the significant Vedic knowledge and finally to our own guru who teaches continuously and thus , I pray the entire Guru parambara ( chain of Masters) )


अज्ञानान्तर्गहनपतितान् आत्मविद्योपदेशैः
त्रातुम् लोकान् भवदवशिखातापपापच्यमानान् ।
मुक्त्वा मौनं वटविटपिनो मूलतो निष्पतन्ती
शंभोर्मूर्तिः चरति भुवने शंकराचार्यरूपा
Anjjanathar gahanapathithan athmavidyopadeshaihi
Thrathum lokan bhavadavashikaathapapapachyamanan
Mukthvamounam vadavidapino moolatho nishpathantee
Shambhomoorthi s charathi bhuvane sankaracharya roopa
( Means: Lord Dakhsinamoorthy (Shiva) who was in Dhyanam (silent meditation) on the beneath of a pupil tree, renounce his meditation and took birth on earth as Sankaracharya, when the humans were suffering from ignorance. The incarnation of Lord Shiva, as Sankaran was borne on earth to save the humanity from ignorance, illusions, vanity pride and distress caused due to the excess materialism, and Sankaracharya advised Athmavidya (The Knowledge of one’s own Self – Advaitam) as to illuminate ones own self and pave the path to ultimate abode of happiness. )
